    THE GREEN HOUR

Pernod Absinthe has a rich history of inspiring creativity and originality, which is why shortly after 1805 it became the most popular aperitif in France. In the mid 19th Century, L’Heure Verte (The Green Hour) became a cultural phenomenon in Paris and every evening between 5 and 7 o’clock cafés all over Paris were flooded with customers clambering for a Pernod.

Its ritual soon inspired the most creative minds of the 19th and early 20th Century. Inspired by its colour, unusual flavours, elaborate preparation ritual, names such as Baudelaire, Oscar Wilde, Ernest Hemmingway and Picasso were passionate about Pernod Absinthe.  For the Green Hour in 2011, award winning mixologist Charles Vexenat has created the delicious cocktail – The Green Beast – a modern day homage to the era that made Absinthe famous, this light and refreshing aperitif is the perfect way to end a long day and bring in the evening.

THINK-WORK-PLAY patrons, Pernod Absinthe, are on the look out the most exciting, innovative and interesting projects in London. If you know of a creative event that might fit the bill; be that an exhibition launch, party, mad cap event or production, we’ll deliver a Green Hour – complete with Green Beast cocktails to you.

We’re looking for one event each month that has creativity at its core. If you feel that your launch fits the bill; tell us about it in no more than 100 words and we’ll turn up at the most louche, exciting, inspiring and entertaining nights.

Pernod Absinthe has been at the heart of the creative community for over 200 years.
